4:00 AM – 5:00 AM | The Early Start

Your Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From here, we travel by private van through the Sacred Valley of the Incas toward the historic town of Ollantaytambo, where the train station is located.

The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, passing through beautiful Andean landscapes and traditional villages of the Sacred Valley.

7:00 AM | The Expedition Train

At the Ollantaytambo Train Station, we board the comfortable Expedition Train to Machu Picchu.

During the journey, you can relax in comfortable seats with plenty of legroom while enjoying spectacular views through the large panoramic windows. The train follows the Vilcanota River (Urubamba River) and passes dramatic mountain scenery, including views of snow-capped peaks such as Mount Veronica.

This train ride is considered one of the most scenic routes in the Peruvian Andes.

8:45 AM | Arrival & Bus Ride

We arrive in Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, the town located at the base of the Machu Picchu mountain.

Our staff will meet you at the train station and guide you to the bus departure area. From there, we take the 25-minute winding bus ride up to the Machu Picchu sanctuary entrance, climbing through lush cloud forest landscapes.

10:00 AM | The Guided Tour

Once inside the archaeological site, your guide will lead a comprehensive 2 to 2.5-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

During the guided visit, you will explore the most important highlights of the Inca citadel, including:

• The Guard House – the classic panoramic photo viewpoint of Machu Picchu

• The Main Plaza – the central ceremonial area of the citadel

• The Circular Tower – also known as the Temple of the Sun

• The Sacred Solar Clock (Intihuatana) – an important astronomical stone used by the Incas

• The Royal Quarters – residential areas believed to have housed Inca nobility

Your guide will explain the history, architecture, and spiritual significance of Machu Picchu, offering insights into the engineering achievements of the Inca civilization.

1:00 PM | Lunch & Free Time

After the guided tour, we take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes.

Here you will have free time to explore the town, visit local artisan shops, buy souvenirs, or enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Lunch is not included in the tour package.

4:00 PM | The Return Journey

In the afternoon we board the return Expedition Train to Ollantaytambo, once again enjoying the scenic landscapes of the Sacred Valley and the Andes Mountains.

Upon arrival at the train station, our private driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Arrival in Cusco is expected around 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM, concluding your unforgettable Machu Picchu Full Day Tour.
