Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Walk the ancient stone path of the Incas and enter Machu Picchu through the legendary Sun Gate.

Why Choose the Classic Inca Trail?

The Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the most famous trekking route in South America and one of the world’s most iconic hiking experiences.

Over 4 days and 43 km (26 miles), the trail follows original Inca stone paths that cross high Andean passes, lush cloud forests, and archaeological sites hidden deep within the mountains.

Starting near Km 82 in the Sacred Valley, the trek gradually climbs through traditional Andean landscapes before reaching Dead Woman’s Pass (4,215 m / 13,828 ft), the highest point of the journey.

Along the route you will explore incredible Inca sites such as:

  • Llactapata

  • Runkurakay

  • Sayacmarca

  • Phuyupatamarca

  • Wiñay Wayna

The final moment of the trek is unforgettable: arriving at Inti Punku (Sun Gate) at sunrise, where Machu Picchu appears dramatically below.

More than just a hike, the Classic Inca Trail is a journey through history, nature, and ancient engineering leading to the Lost City of the Incas.
